I love your books!! I think
that I have almost all of them.
Years ago when I would read a
book, I thought wow this is so
funny - I have to find some more -
well they were all yours! So I set
out to find them all.I have many
many Regency's that I save for
reading over and over. I NEVER get
rid of yours for space for another
one!!!

I've never been a big romance
reader (besides Jane) because I
felt the writing lacked technique
and the genre was often filled
with nothing but soft porn.
I'm so happy to have picked
up an e-book and discovered some of
Barbara's work. I'm on my third
book and happily engaged in good
fun regency reading.

Dear Miss Metzger
I just finished reading "Jack of
Clubs". Thank you for
creating such a refreshing,

yours I have read and
the many hours of pleasure. I look
forward to reading many
more of your books.

Dear Barbara,
I have read your books for almost
a decade, since I was in middle
school - thank you for continuing
to write! The series you have
right now, with the truthtellers,
is great. I had to go to 3
bookstores for the latest though,
so I hope your sales are going ok.
My favorite of yours is still
Snowdrops and Scandalbroth, esp
because of the male virgin hero &
the vivid word picture of the
initial lady's snotty nose). I
have just read your interview with
Risky Regencies, which was great!
I hope your trademark humor will
be able to come out to play more
in future books.
Any news on the next book that
will be out? Will it be on the
cousin in the
family? (I'm sorry, I'm really bad
with names...Daniel? the one with
the rash)
Sincerely,
Gina

Hello Ms. Metzger,
Just read TRULY YOURS and
thoroughly enjoyed it, cannot wait
for SCANDALOUS LIFE OF A TRUE
LADY.
I don't know who does the design
of your covers, but I have to say
they are some of the most gorgeous
artwork I've seen. Absolutely
beautiful covers. Not that you
need a good cover to sell your
writing which I adore, but the
covers
certainly make you pick them up
and they are phenomenal.

Read your House of Cards
trilogy & loved it. Now I'm
finding your Signets at the Used
Bookstore & snapping them up. I
absolutely adored Miss Treadwell's
Talent. I literally laughed out
loud in spots.
Today I read A Debt to Delia &
just chortled. It was so great to
see an almost trite situation
turned on its ear (the 'I must
repay this life debt by marrying
my dead comrade's sister'). It
hasn't quite been used enough to
be trite, but it's close and I
loved how you wrote it.

One other note, your

You know, people always think that
Regency Romances are fluffy and
pointless and basically an excuse
for soft porn (!!) but to people
who say or think that, I would
give them a Barbara Metzger book.
Always unpredictable, well
written, warm, funny and highly
descriptive; I feel as if I am
living them. I personally think I
have better vocabulary, grasp of
Regency era history and higly
developed sense of humor (ahem)
mostly because I am a HUUUUUGE fan
of Regencies and more particulary,
Barbara Metzger. Please, don't
EVER stop writing! I have been
reading your books since I was a

It's so hard to find books these days that are innocently delightful! Even other modern Regency novels are emotionally manipulative. After all, if I want gross, scary, explicit, or depressing, I just have to look around at our current life!
The world needs more of your books. Thank you and keep writing!

CommentsI love your Regency books . I have read THE DUel and Wedded Bliss and they were great. They were so funny which I don't seem to get in all my books. I hope you continue to write these great books. Thanks

CommentsWhat an awesome author! Thank you for making us laugh so much--especially the silly puns--but the plots are incredible and really keep the reader's attention until the last page. I'm such a picky reader that the only other authors I'll consider in the so-called Regency genre are Edith Layton, Carla Kelly, and Georgette Heyer. That's awesome company for anyone. Thank you, thank you!

CommentsHi, just finished reading "The Duel" and LOVED it. Delightful, funny, just about perfect. I hope you never stop writing regency books - we need more of them! P.S. If your readers get nervous waiting for your next book to appear as I do, they might want to check out Marion Chesney, who could fill in while they wait.

CommentsDear Barbara Metzger, I have been reading you since The Inn,
and then backed up. I collected your books and my girls grew up and now my younges has read my entire collection. I started reading you from the public library (my sister turned me on to you, as she was looking for an E. Peters under Mertz and found you - better) and am glad to know you are back there again. (My daughter will be also.) I am also glad to see you have won so many awards, and very glad that you continue to write. thank you.

Dear Barbara:
I read about you in Sunday Newsday 2/13/05 and went to the library the next day. I took out A Debt to Delia and read it in a day - and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm a big Jane Austen fan and had no idea Regency Romances could be so much fun. Thanks for a great read.
All the best in 2005.

Dear Barbara Metzger:
I just finished THE DUEL. I saved it for the last of the batch that I had ordered in January; and it was absolutely wonderful! I loved Ian; but Lord Carswell made me howl with laughter. This was so far above what some of the "newest" Regency "stars" are capable of; and where I thought (& still believe) some will never ever be able to go. Thank you for letting us hardcore fans of the genre know that good writers are still out there. You handled everything (& everyone) with such grace & humor. I can barely wait for my second reading.
Many Thanks!

Not since Heyer have I been so entertained by a Regency novel.
Your sense of humor and comedies of manners are "suit me to a cow's thumb."
I smile, I laugh out loud and read passages to my spouse, who is a great Austen fan.
Would that someone would make films of your stories!

Have been reading your books for several years.
I cannot see how you can have written so many;
it must take years to squeeze all that humor
into each paragraph! I'm still searching for
more of your oldies. Keep up the good work.

Hi Barbara! When I was 14, Minor Indiscretions was the very first regency I ever read (still my favorite, with the Earl and the Heiress and Rake's Ransom following a close second) I just wanted to say thanks for all the laughs over the years! I own just about every book you've ever written...I've re-read them each many times over. Your ideas are great...I'm looking forward to many more hopefully! :)
Thankyou! Erin Mills

Ms. Metzger, I like your site. However, a little suggestion, a summary after each book title would be nice. I am in the process of hunting down all your past titles and a short summary would let me know which ones to find first. Your writing style and sense of humor is awesome.Your command of the english language is excellent. Its evident in the play on words and puns found in your works. Keep up the excellent work. God Bless and continued success.
